If you are looking for a good gift for someone this year, Why not get them a telescope to view the night sky. Telescopes can be enjoyed by people of all ages.I have enjoyed the view through my telescope for several years. When I was first interested in viewing the moon I purchased an amateur telescope at my local Wal-Mart. It was fairly inexpensive, yet it gave me the chance to learn more about how mysterious the view of the night sky can be.After looking through an amateur telescope for a couple of years I stepped up to a larger telescope. Now that I am more interested and have a better understanding of what is really going on, I have been able to view many of the planets in our solar system.Alot of us see them but may not realize it.

A few of the planets are in view but appear as very bright stars in the night sky.I have seen some very cool views of planets, the moon and several stars.I have also taken several pictures with my telescopes camera, which shows many details that you can't always see with the naked eye.If you think you might enjoy this hobby I recommend starting with a cheaper telescope where you can view the moons craters and some small star galaxies. If you plan on spending more than $300.00 or more I would make sure you do research on aperture size of the telescope. For easy terms the bigger the aperture the more light the better you can see.
